Email This Post HomeHumorApologies to the Teacher at Wine-Drinking Painting Class Amy Vansant June 30, 2015 Humor 5 Comments My mother and I went to “Wine & Canvas” last night, which is where you drink and learn to paint. I’m already really good at the first thing, but I’m not much of a painter, so I figured I could use a class. Our assigned project for the evening was a pair of flip flops on a beach: But after I painted my water and sand and had a vodka and soda (splash of cranberry) …things went a bit off the rails… What’s is that in the water you ask? It’s a giant octopus, naturally… Obviously, you can’t have a giant octopus and a shark with giant foreground flip flops? So… I decided the juxtaposition of a man-eating shark (it’s almost Shark Week, right?) and a demon-eyed kraken would go well with my fluffy dog, Gordon. My finished painting: One of the ladies in the class liked it so much, I turned around to find someone had appeared on her flip flop painting… Next month’s assignment is “Your Pet” so I guess I’ll paint flip flops! Sounds like a fun class. If I told a friend of mine I was taking a class like that, he’d say “Do you still drink?” (It’s an inside joke about some guy at work who asked me that when I saw him in the hall because at one time, I told him I drink a glass of wine on Friday night. 0 likes Reply Amy Vansant July 2, 2015 Ha! That’s so funny. I’m surprised you could see straight to write this comment! 🙂 0 likes Reply JessieJ July 2, 2015 Love it! I went to one of these a couple weeks ago with a friend. When I told my husband about it, he gave me a weird look and asked if I could paint. We painted an anchor with an octopus and a jellyfish. When I brought him home, he exclaimed “That’s not as horrible as I expected!” Thanks, dear…. 0 likes Reply Amy Vansant July 2, 2015 Ooh, they actually gave you an octopus to draw! Much better than flip flops! 0 likes Reply Shawna July 6, 2015 That is hilarious!!
