And yes, I say “taped” instead of “dvrrd” or “recorded” because it has less syllables and I’m hella old. I’ll go get something to eat out of the ice box (which has less syllables than “refrigerator”) while you deal with that. Anyway, Kara left us a chalk drawing on our kitchen chalkboard contact paper of our Labradoodle, Gordon, as a Dragon Doodle. A Dragon Doodle is a rare, fire breathing dragon known for its cuddliness and inability to survive in the wild for even 10 minutes. In her art, Kara has Gordon dreaming about Daenerys Targaryen and renamed his “food” and “water” to “water” and “fire.” Gordon didn’t seem to mind, though I know for a fact he’s more of an Amy Pohler guy than a Daenerys Targaryen man. I can tell by the way he would not shut up about how sad he was about her divorce from Will Arnett. He prefers women who are not followed around by scary dragons. Though Daenerys’ penchant for doing it doggy style did briefly pique his interest. Since his nickname is “Monkey,” Gordon also has a bit of a crush on ventriloquist Nina Conti from HBO’s Family Tree, though after every episode he’s disappointed to see no one has raised a leg on a tree. Every week it’s “but no one even lifted a leg!” or “there wasn’t even a tree in that episode!” and I start to think he’s not as smart as I thought. Then he’ll mumble “the humor in this show is delightful, if a bit uneven” and I realize I might have been too hard on him. He is a dog after all. I could get into how he dislikes Sarah McLachlan because he thinks she has a show about making dogs very sad, but really, a detailed account of his love life, likes and dislikes could take all day. Weren’t we talking about a Dragon Doodle? Right. The point of all this was that it inspired me to make a new tee shirt, featuring Gordon as a Dragon Doodle. Available on the Kid-FreeLiving store or our DoodleSport dog store. If you’d like me to turn a photo of your dog (or cat, or hamster) into a LabraDragon, or a DoxieDragon or a BichonFriseasaur, you can also order that. I just need a picture of your dog standing like Gordon is below (and fairly high-res) and I’ll give him or her the wings/smoke/fire/reptilian brain and turn it into a t-shirt for you. Available in plain and “Dragon Doodle Dungeon Style.” About Latest Posts Amy VansantAmy Vansant is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author specializing in fun, funny fiction --- even the murder mysteries. I don’t watch any of those shows, but now I’m thinking I have to train my damn cat to draw interesting things. Ugh. Well, at least now I have weekend plans… 0 likes Reply Amy Vansant June 20, 2013 Jeeze, I didn’t even think of making Gordon do all the work. Excellent idea… 0 likes Reply Carrie June 20, 2013 Dragondoodle is such an awesome word…It’s stuck in my head and I’m walking around muttering it. One of these days my co workers are going to call the people with the white jackets and padded rooms…which is fine because at least I would get a nap. Now….need to turn my yorkie into a dragon 0 likes Reply Amy Vansant June 20, 2013 Should we call that a Dragorkie? Yorkies are SOOO cute. Would love to make a dragon out of him/her. Can you do one for diva Chihuahuas? 0 likes Reply Amy Vansant June 20, 2013 Most certainly! I’ve been photoshopping for over 15 years, so I could probably do it with just about anything… FYI – I should mention that anyone who orders one can use coupon code “kidfree” to get an additional 10% off! 0 likes Reply Michele Drier June 20, 2013 Ice box….oh yesssss! And maybe I’ll go get a dog. 0 likes Reply Sandi June 20, 2013 Perhaps Miss Mini Ma would like to be a Dragondoodle. She thinks she’s pretty ferocious, or is that precocious and loves to expel fire breath! 0 likes Reply Tammy R June 21, 2013 Amy! No TV for a while here, so I am clueless about these shows, but the Sarah MacLaughlin had me chuckling in my booth and snorting coffee! Who hasn’t seen those commercials. Her sad songs and sad commercials alone could put me in a downward spiral unparalleled. Don’t worry, Sarah, I will remember you? Will you remember me? Cute puppy!!! 0 likes Reply meleah rebeccah June 24, 2013 That is totally super awesome – and wicked creative!! 0 likes Reply Deb June 25, 2013 I’m with Abby on this one – I don’t watch any of these shows but yes, you are the creative one. And how funny — ICE BOX? Really? How about just “fridge”? I say “tape” too though so … I guess I’m old as well. Now for my Joint Juice I just purchased yesterday. Don’t judge. 0 likes Reply Megly Mc June 25, 2013 This might be the most genius use of photo fabrication since that “moon landing” thing (pffffffft, humans on the moon…as if). 0 likes Reply Carrie - Cannibalistic Nerd July 8, 2013 Even girls who have three ruthless, deadly dragons need a snuggly dragon to cuddle with. 0 likes Reply Leave a Reply to Megly Mc Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* Website Add me to Amy Vansant's Humor Newsletter!
