Name the puppy in Pineapple 9, BIG giveaway and deals

Name the Puppy Contest!

It’s time for me to pick something in the upcoming Pineapple Puppies (Pineapple Port Mysteries #9 – releasing May 24) for you to name! Last time was a snake… this time its an adorable Yorkie puppy!

Puppies have taken over book nine of the Pineapple Port mystery series!
Someone has left puppies on the doorsteps of Pineapple Port’s residents, but the adorable balls of fur seem to be connected to the murder of a nearby millionaire with too many heirs of his own. Meanwhile, Mariska’s been framed for baking a killer cake, and Charlotte must clear her name.

Fans of classic cozy mysteries will adore this whodunnit packed with puppies, baking, horses, sneaky maids and a dead rich man!

So for this book’s contest, I’d like you to name this adorable puppy! (well the one in the picture is already named Harley, but she’s my model.)

Ten ebook winners when the book is released and one winner of a signed paperback!

Just post your ideas at the bottom of this page in the comments or email them to me if you prefer!

Yorkshire terrier, hmmmm! York and Lancaster were the two dukes who fought for power in the War of the Roses in England long ago. It was called the war of the roses because one duke had a red rose on his coat of arms, and the other duke had a white rose on the coat of arms. So you could call a female puppy Rose, and a male puppy could be called Lancaster if you don’t think that it is too ironic to have a Yorkie named Lancaster, or Lan for short. Lancaster would be an especially good name if it is one of those perpetually confused puppies, which lie down when you say sit, stand up when you say down, roll over for a belly rub when you say come, and dance on his back legs when you say stay, comes when you say bad dog, and runs to your friend when you say fetch, but does the same wrong things consistently so that you can get the puppy to do what you want by giving the “wrong” command! People actually do occasionally train a dog on purpose to respond to nonsensical or nonstandard commands, sometimes for silly reasons, sometimes so that nobody else will be easily able to work with the dog for security reasons. And even very small dogs can be a security asset, as alarms, as messengers, as distractions, and even as attack dogs under some unusual circumstances. Of course, I just like the idea of a Yorkie named Lancaster for the irony, and a lot of people would not get the joke. But the Duke of Lancaster would have thought that the Duke of York had outrageously insulted him by naming a Yorkshire terrier Lancaster!

One of my girls is named yakut. Pronounce ya.coot. she was named after a shamaness. But there’s a far northern indigenous tribe named that as well.
Trickster could be male or female. Or Loki after the god.
Macha (“MAH-hah”; Ireland): muscular war queen similar to the Greek Artemis (Roman Diana). Often associated with horses and other animals. She once made the men of Ulster suffer the pangs of childbirth.
I like using unusual names for my pets. But I also use household names like scruffy as well.
Yakut is 19 maybe 20 as of last month. The longest lived of her parents and siblings. She was a runt and never quite grew into the other shih tzus but always small. Once she made it to 9 lbs that seemed to be it for her.
I threw in Macha because yorkies parents were from Scotland. When Scots came to England to work some came with their small terrier dogs. A mixture of these were the future yorkies.

Call it Razzie, it can be either a male or female name, it’s a nice and strong name, as well as cute, so lots of options for its character.

I kinda always thought Puddles was a funny name…My dog’s name is Philip & he ADORABLE!!! (He’s a bichpoo.)…I once met a tiny fluffy dog named Attila…At the pet store, I saw the list of dogs groomed that day & one was named Hey You…what about a dog named Doggie?…

Shay or Shy. You could use a name that is opposite to the puppies personality.
