Pick a Pineapple Theme and Win the Book – Disco for 99c

Here’s one I WON’T be writing!!

Help Me Pick a Pineapple Theme & Win the Book!

Shee McQueen Mystery #2, The Girl Who Was Forgotten, is finished!

Not available yet, (it’s with the editor) but that means it’s time to write the next Pineapple Port Mystery!

I was trying to decide what topic to write about, and thought I’d ask for your help. 🙂

I’ve done dogs, cats, house hunting, hurricanes, serial killers, beach houses, Christmas, Halloween,  cows, land purchases… what are the mystery topics you like the best or that seem to be popular now?

Let me know by email or in the comments below and maybe I’ll end up writing YOUR dream cozy!

If I end up picking your suggestion, I’ll gift you the book for free when I’m done! (Even if there are more than one of you asking for the same thing.)

Speaking of Pineapple Port…

Has anyone said GHOSTS yet?? Or the Covid 19 – something to do with masks maybe since we wear masks and no one can tell who we are? Metal Detecting? Camping.

The cover is a pineapple wearing a mask. One of the most interesting parts of your books, Amy, are your wacky characters, so I would love to read how the residents of Pineapple Port deal with (and get around) the lockdown and still manage to find a killer.

Pineapple Dreams. Pineapple Wedding. Pineapple Honeymoon.
I’m guessing you see the thread here. Maybe a member of the wedding party is killed, and leads to other secrets unveiled. Or, murder on the honeymoon.

Hi Amy, I’ve lived through a lot of seasons, grew up in tornado alley and I can think of nothing worse than a 🌪. I would take 100 hurricanes before one more tornado. You can’t predict where they will touch down or where they’re going. I’ve had them come right at my house and hit a tree root and jump over my house and destroy the rest of the block. Love your stories. M

Pineapple Showers. Beaches usually have small outdoor semi-enclosed showers right near the beach where swimmers and sunbathers can rinse off the salty ocean water and sand. What if there were some petty thefts there, that escalated to murder. How? Why? Who?

If you want to do a pandemic one maybe go with how the elderly who get sick get picked up by an ambulance but mysteriously they never arrive at a hospital. It could delve into the dark side of a doctor gone rogue trying to create his own vaccine using the patients as test subjects. All goes well until one dies…..

I haven’t seen many time travel cozy mysteries! I love that genre and think it would make a great series, where a duo tries to solve unsolved mysteries from the past.

Setting is Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Someone steals your float before the parade, of course, it is decorated with pineapples. The search is on with one problem after another. The possibilities. It is hidden somewhere. Possibly in Slidell, just north of New Orleans? Picayune, MS, a little more north. But where? College prank? Hattiesburg, MS, at Southern Mississippi University?

Something Military–tank, cannon from a fort; Fourth of July–fireworks, parade display, Labor Day–flags, statue, Schools–mascot, band uniforms, member of school staff, Picnic basket–from any potluck dinner at any event and of course it has a fruit basket.
How about a summer fundraising fair during the Forth of July with the food theme being the Perfect Pineapple with a golden pineapple as the prize–could be a statue, hood ornament, necklace, tie tack, earrings.

I can’t take credit for these ideas as I’ve read others and would like to say I like the pandemic idea. With the grocery shortage they can take advantage of one of the Aunt’s (can’t remember which one at the moment) who hoards food and it’s been mentioned in the past. The mystery could be someone breaking in and stealing supplies. The pet shop idea is good, maybe a pet-napping event. Cooking contest would be a good story too. Lots of great ideas

The only idea that is mine is a private vacation with Charlotte and Dec after being stuck at home for so long. Maybe a ski vacation gone wrong? Don’t forget the masks. I live near a ski resort
